Collection of Crocus serotinus spp. salzmannii in the Parque Natural de los Calares del Mundo y de la Sima (October 2009).
The Sierras de Alcaraz and Segura, are located between the Iberian and Betic Cordilleras. The natural area of the limestone deposits occupies an area of 19,000 ha, southwest of the Albacete province.
Plants were collected by Prof. J.A. Fernandez and collaborators in two different locations but next one inside the pine forest and one in the mountain pass, in a pasture. We thank the guidance of Mr. Juan F. Manzanares who has a great knowledge of the land.
